Welcome to Antequera

Antequera, a city situated at the main crossroads of Andalusia, has always been the obligatory passing through point for travellers. It is called “the heart of Andalusia” thanks to its strategic position. Antequera is the biggest municipality in Málaga (313 mi2; 810 km2), and one of the biggest in Spain, actually the fifth in extension.

Antequera offers one of the most important road networks because it is one of the main railway crossings in Andalusia and Spain. Its main train stations are Antequera and Bobadilla. A new train station, Santa Ana, links Antequera with Madrid.

Despite its closeness to the sea, Antequera is an inland city, where you will be able to enjoy a wonderful place: El Torcal, a chain of rocky mountains which was part of the depths of the sea millions of years ago, and which separates the city from the sea shore. The city has a mild continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers.

Antequera is full of typical Andalusian houses, which surprise us with beautiful widen patios, inaccessible convents, closed churches and private palaces, the insides of which boast a rich artistic heritage quite difficult to access.

The golf course is a spectacular 18 hole - par 72 – course, surrounded by the magnificent Torcal natural park. Situated at 711 yd (650 m) above sea level, this course is the most easily accessed course in Andalusia: 25 minutes from Málaga, 40 minutes from Granada and 1 hour from Sevilla, Córdoba, Ronda and Marbella. The journey to Madrid will only take 2 hours on the High Speed Train (AVE).
