    In order to do this, the Institutional Organising Committee met in a reunion where the following persons were present: Teresa Prieto, vice-rector of the University of Málaga; Gonzaga Escauriaza, president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation; Ricardo Millán, major of Antequera; Pedro Montiel, director of the Secretariat of Sport of the University of Málaga; Juan José Gómez-Raggio, general secretary of the Andalusia Golf Federation; Antonio Souvirón, representative of the Council of Tourism and Sports; Antonio Merino, service manager of the Council of Youth and Sports; and Ramón Jiménez, representative of Antequera Golf.


    The anthem´s title is “Fair play”, and it was specifically composed for the competition by José Luis López Durán, a doctor from Málaga participating with the Faculty of Medicine from the University of Madrid. The song will be played on live during the championship´s opening ceremony, that is, the 7th June 2010. The director of the Secretariat of Sport of the University also announced that the mascot designed for the championship will be shown to the students of all the schools from Antequera, where they will participate in a competition to name the mascot. The purpose is to involve the whole city in this event.


    During the press conference, the dates of the championship were officially announced, namely, from 7th to 11th June 2010. Furthermore, it was announced that the opening ceremony will take place in the Antequera Golf course, and the closing ceremony in Santa María La Mayor Collegiate Church.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MÁLAGA PRESENTS THE NEXT WORLD UNIVERSITY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

    The University of Málaga will hold the 13th World University Golf Championship, which will take place in the facilities of Antequera Golf Club between the 7th and the 11th June 2010. The anthem, the mascot and the official poster of the Championship have already been presented before the authorities, who offered all their aid to this project one year before its holding.
