On the occasion of the holdings of the Universiade in Serbia and the European Universities Golf Championship in Portuguese Algarve the next months, a promotion work will be carried out among the universities from more than 180 countries. The University of Málaga will provide all of them with the advertising of the city of Antequera and Antequera Golf. All the authorities profit the occasion in order to give their support to this project which will contribute to expand the image of the University, of the host club, of Antequera, and of the whole Andalusian region.
The University of Málaga expects the presence of more than 20 teams coming from countries all over the world, as well as more than 160 participants who will develop their game during the 4 days the competition will last.
A month before the World Championship, the University of Málaga will hold the National University Golf Championship in the same golf course, in order to test the organization of the competition in June 2010. The University of Málaga has already requested the holding of this championship to the Higher Sport Council (CEDU). Antequera has already hosted other two National University Golf Championships.
Moreover, the next week, from the 10th to the 12th June, Antequera will be first inspected by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The director of world university championships, Laurent Briel, the FISU technical representative, Raymond Robinson, and the international area representative for the world championships, Roberto Outeiriño will travel to Antequera to visit the facilities.
